Wootton-by-Woodstock is a very pleasant, historic village and enjoys one of the most desirable locations in Oxfordshire. The village offers a calm, yet stimulating educational environment for both staff and pupils. The School's catchment area includes the village of Glympton and surrounding hamlets. We also receive pupils from outside the catchment area, particularly from "Old Woodstock". The School was founded early in the 19th century and still occupies its original location right in the centre of the village close to the village shop and St. Mary's Church with which it is closely affiliated. Buildings comprise three main classrooms, school office, Head's office, staff room, community room/library and kitchen around a secure playground.
Playing fields are available in the village, a short walk away. We are an active establishment and aim to provide a caring, secure, and happy environment for learning where everyone is valued for their own individual talents and personality. We work towards a high-quality education across a broad curriculum, and to attain maximum performance in statutory tests.
We have high expectations with regard to the behaviour of pupils. We welcome all children from the neighbourhood irrespective of their parents' religious beliefs. We aim to develop in our pupils a sympathetic understanding of the Christian faith by building Christian values into the ethos and teaching of the school, without exerting pressure to believe, and to develop in our pupils an understanding of, and respect for, other major world faiths.
