The Teachers’ Union, NUT has voted for a national strike in response to the Government’s plans for changes to teachers’ pensions and pay related issues.  The industrial action will be for one day and will take place on Thursday 10th July.  One teacher in this school is a member of this union.  On this occasion one class will be affected.

Oaks class will be closed on Thursday 10th July.  Saplings and Acorns classes will be open on Thursday 10th July.  Please bring your child to school as usual.

The Marlborough School Association (MSA) would like to invite your family to attend a Treasure Trail and Family Picnic in Blenheim Park on Sunday 18th May 2014 at 11.00am.

Blenheim have kindly agreed to allow families to park in Blenheim free of charge.  Gate staff will be briefed to expect families from The Marlborough School.  Parking will be on the grass area by the cross roads (identifiable by the low wooden barriers) therefore we suggest entry from the entrance on Oxford Road (Hensington Gate).  There will be a gazebo in this area staffed by MSA members.  Please register and purchase your trail at a cost of £5 from them.

Once all families have completed the trail answers will be shared during the family picnic.

We very much hope that you will be able to support this event which has been organised specifically for students in Year 6, 7 and 8 and their families.  It is our intension to continue to strengthen our school community and hopefully such an event will help us to achieve this objective.

Please reply by e mail to Lisa Cox;

A Woodlands Residential Parents Meeting will be held on Thursday 15th May at 3.15 pm in the Oaks class.  Parents of any children who are taking part in the residential are invited to come along for more information about the venue and activities that we will be doing.  A booklet containing information and the necessary medical forms will be available at the meeting or sent home if you are unable to attend.  Children will have their own meeting so will not need to come to the meeting.
